CMI Singapore and ISACA Hold Roundtable

2 July 2024

On 2 July 2024, CMI Singapore and ISACA members came together for a focused roundtable to discuss a timely topic, “Balancing between Board’s expectation and CISOs’ Burnout”.  Following the roundtable meeting, CMI and ISACA have jointly published this inaugural thought leadership article to bring greater awareness on the increasing importance of CISO in every organisation.  A key observation is CISO needs to foster strong and trusted relationships with all key stakeholders and provide clarity in deploying technology as a strategic asset to achieve business objectives.  CMI believes that the CMI Professional Standard for Management and Leadership is timely in helping CISOs build the requisite skills and knowledge to meet today's and future expectations and challenges. It is a framework of the skills, knowledge, and behaviours that managers and leaders need to acquire to be effective. It consists of 4 core competencies:- 1: values, ethics and culture, 2. Personal effectiveness, 3. Interpersonal excellence, and 4. Organisational performance.  The professional standard is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Compact's Principles for Responsible Management Education. This means that managers and leaders who meet the CMI Professional Standard are well-equipped to lead their organisations sustainably and responsibly.
