‘Loud quitting’: Should managers be concerned?
Written by Dave Waller Wednesday 24 April 2024Piers Morgan may have made a storm in 2021 when he walked off the set of Good Morning Britain mid-broadcast – but he’s not the first to go viral in the act of quitting.
Back in 2011, a hotel worker named Joey De Francesco made an elaborate performance of leaving his job at a hotel in Rhode Island, US.
“I’m going to go and quit right now, with the help of my band mates,” he said. Then he led a marching band into the building.
“Guys, what is this?” asked his manager. “All of you out, now.”
Joey handed him a letter.
“I’m here to tell you that I’m quitting!” Joey said.
