At CMI, we’re huge proponents of lifelong learning. And Renee Raper CMgr FCMI’s career is a living demonstration of why. From flying to Qatar to convince oil execs to use CMI accreditation as the basis for their staff training, to liaising with the Scottish government on policy and now running her own business, she’s done it all.

After completing her Masters degree and 17 years worth of experience in a variety of leadership and development roles – including living and working overseas in Kazakhstan for 18 months – she then joined a UK university in its corporate development team and as a lecturer on the MBA.

Here, she was tasked with visiting businesses and building training courses for their staff in leadership and development.

She loved the work and introduced CMI accreditation to the provision – starting the centre’s first courses, training its tutors and selling the courses to corporate clients. But crucially, she also knew the power of walking the talk.
