Malaysia university success in CMI Awards of Excellence

This month saw the announcement of the winners of the CMI Awards of Excellence, and a Malaysia university won in the International HE Partner of the Year category.

Sunway University is one of Malaysia’s leading private universities. It holds a five-star rating from the Malaysian government and has been awarded Premier Digital Technology University status – one of only 11 institutions in the country to carry that honour.

Based in the west of Kuala Lumpur, Sunway is on a “transformative journey” to nurture competent and ethical leaders who can drive positive change in today’s dynamic business landscape. And its partnership with CMI is the foundation: around 820 students have been awarded Level 5 qualifications.

The school, whose faculty members are Chartered Managers themselves, has a remarkable 100% employability index, which it says shows the value placed on CMI certifications by employers. All management students graduate with Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr) status, setting them apart as professionals with recognised leadership competencies and helping them to thrive in a competitive business environment.

The CMI Awards of Excellence judges were impressed with how Sunway continues to improve its contribution to better management and leadership practices in companies, both across Malaysia and internationally.

The Sunway team described being shortlisted for the award as “a moment of immense pride”.
