CMI Communities Live: Malaysia

On the 6th November 2024, the CMI Communities Live: Malaysia event was held at Putra Business School in Selangor.

There were over 250 attendees drawn from the CMI community of learners, members and partners, plus non-members from the wider business community.

Welcome speeches from Professor Dr. Azmawani Abd Rahman (President and CEO of Putra Business School) and Francine Torbett (Deputy Country Director - Trade (Malaysia) of the Department for Business and Trade) were followed by a keynote address from Ann Francke OBE CMgr CCMI (CEO of CMI).

The event included two insightful panel discussions:

'Talent, Skills & Career Development' featured Megat Fazrul from TalentCorp, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amjad Shamim CMgr FCMI from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and Dr. Christina SS Ooi FCMI and Major Monique Yong FCMI both from the CMI Malaysia Regional Board.

'Accelerate Growth & Drive Performance' featured Millie Yong from Microsoft Malaysia, Danial Rahman from the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI), Patrick Klotz from SwissTech Solutions and Dr. Guna Seelan Rethinam CMgr FCMI from the CMI Malalysia Regional Board.

There was then recognition and celebration of newly qualified Chartered Managers and shortlisted nominees for CMI awards - including Universiti Teknologi MARA, Sunway University,  and students from IPK College.

The event then concluded with networking and refreshments.
