“Never become complacent… always endeavour to learn”

Ross Harvey CMgr FCMI has always had a thirst for knowledge. “My father always used to say: ‘Every day’s a school day, son. If you don’t learn at least one new piece of information between getting up and going to bed, you’re walking around with blinkers on.’”

This approach has enabled him to go from being an electrical engineer, installing fire and security systems for industrial and commercial organisations, to running his own security consultancy with a much wider remit. He launched Rockfort Security Consultants in 2022 and is now in the business of developing strategies to protect people, assets and information. He has a global network of consultants, each with their own fields of expertise.

“We work with public agencies and high-profile commercial organisations, consulting on areas like physical security, counterterrorism, procedure and policy creation, business continuity and crisis management,” he explains.

A man of many hats

With 25 years’ experience in the sector, he is highly sought-after, lecturing on various courses and presenting at security events in the UK and abroad. He served for a year as director of the Association of Security Consultants and acted as a training consultant for the Security Institute.
