The seven values that guide my leadership
Written by James Bowman CMgr FCMI Wednesday 18 May 2022Values in any organisation guide and develop us into the sort of people we should be. This is true across all organisations. These values guide how they expect their workforce and volunteers to behave.
The problem is, we don’t always know what these values are.
Reflecting on my career as a soldier, GP practice manager and humanitarian disaster responder, I have been guided by various values. There are seven that stand out. When placed side-by-side, I can see how they have resonated throughout all of my experiences. They’ve been there at every level of interaction in those workplaces and have helped create and maintain high-performing teams.
