Time to make a change
Tuesday 29 June 2021What do we mean by inclusion and who exactly are we trying to include and why?
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion has been spoken of for years, but when we look at the bigger picture, more conversations about inclusion need to be had.
Inclusion is about creating a collaborative culture which ultimately attracts and unleashes talent which drives innovation. It is all about making everyone feel included so that they can fulfil their potential and contribute fully to the success of their teams and organisation.
Importance of making a change
As a whole, more inclusive organisations perform better within their market which brings them measurable success. The consequences of failing to do this are potentially fatal for any organisation, as they are not well equipped for the diverse world we live in.
This event opens up the conversation about the less explored aspects of inclusion, the other "diversities" that we have a moral, legal and business imperative to include:
- Life experiences
- Social backgrounds
- Thinking styles
- Sexual identities
- Skillsets and disciplines
- Physical abilities
- Neurodiversity
- Religions
In this session...
We are joined by Nigel Girling and a guest, who discusses the importance of inclusion, the moral, business and legal benefits of widening our vision of inclusion and why it is time for change. Nigel has recently written an insightful article on this topic - "Inclusion - who exactly are we trying to include and why?"
Learn why as a manager and leader, it is up to you to ensure you create an inclusive workplace to encompass the best talent.
