CMI South East facilitates and supports professional development and networking for CMI members who live and/or work in the South East region. The volunteers who form the Regional Board are all members within the region and believe passionately in the vision, mission and values of CMI and the importance of excellent leadership and management for all individuals and organisations.
Our focus is on our regional members, however we work closely with the CMI executive team and with neighbouring regions to support members in their development of management and leadership competencies aligned to the CMI Professional Standard and in the growth of their professional networks.
We work with members to organise events relevant to them, share best practice and information using a range of media, and build links with other professional bodies, higher and further education institutions, employers and other community partners.

Louise is a dedicated advocate for anti-oppressive practices and is passionate about creating inclusive, neurodiverse-friendly work environments. Committed to actively challenging and dismantling systemic oppression, Louise believes in the importance of addressing discrimination and inequality in all forms. She is passionate about fostering workplaces where everyone can thrive and participate fully.
With over 10 years’ experience of being a leader and qualifications in coaching, leadership and special educational needs, Louise integrates coaching principles into her leadership style, empowering others to adopt a more empathetic, supportive approach to leadership. She has worked extensively to create cultures of trust, collaboration, and inclusion by promoting leadership that is both empowering and mindful of each person’s unique strengths and needs.
Louise currently utilises her experience and passion for gender equality as the Adult Community Services Lead, leading services that support survivors of domestic abuse. Louise takes the lead on statutory reviews and is a member of quality improvement boards such as Crown Prosecution scrutiny improvement board for Violence against Women and Girls.
Driven by a deep commitment to equity, Louise combines her coaching expertise and dedication to anti-oppressive work to cultivate environments that are both respectful and responsive to the diverse needs of all employees, particularly those from historically marginalised or underrepresented groups.
Mohamed is an experienced academic with a demonstrated history of working in higher education and industry for 20 years. Skilled in Chemical and Energy systems, a Chartered Energy Engineer From the Energy Institute and a Chartered Engineer from the Institute of Engineering and Technology as well chartered Manager from the chartered Management institute. He developed and taught a range of Energy and Chemical Engineering courses at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral
levels in Kuwait, Saudi, Egypt and the UK. A strong engineering professional with over 95 publications and several books and contributions; supervised 20 PhD projects to conclusion. Mohamed holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University and TAFE diploma
focused on Education. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK. And several certifications in Engineering Business, Management, and innovation.
Mohamed Developed the Energy and Petroleum courses at the Australian College in Kuwait then became an Associate Professor for 6 years at the American University in Cairo, where he helped in developing the Energy and Petroleum engineering courses leading to ABET acerdation and participated in the Education Development Program for Egyptian Universities and has previously taught at Suez Canal University and many other private universities such as the British University in Egypt.
Mohamed Developed and Lead the course in Energy and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Portsmouth for six years achieving accreditation through the Engineering council ( energy institute) in the UK. Mohamed also held visiting posts at King Khalid University in Saud Arabia developing distance learning, and the Academy of Banking and Finance in Sudan. Mohamed has many roles as an External Examiner for several universities in the UK and Africa.
Mohamed worked as a project manager and a senior research fellow at the University of Surrey UK, centre for environmental strategy. The Project titles the transitional pathways to low carbon technologies resulting in many white papers feeding into smart metring policies among others.

Lisa is a development and talent management specialist with over 25 years of working in education and leadership, 5 years within professional apprenticeships. As a CMI Certified Level 7 Leadership Coach & Mentor, she is driven by lifelong learning. With decades of coaching and mentoring experience she has a huge passion for professional development, and careers guidance.
Lisa has Careers Guidance, Learning and Development, Vocational Assessor and Internal Quality Assessor {IQA} qualifications and thrives on expanding her skill set and developing best practice and mastery. Lisa genuinely believes in adding value and connecting with others through understanding their approach to their own development trajectory. With a vision that is to inspire people to invest in their development so they can thrive in their endeavours with a solution focused mindset. Experience of working with professional bodies for over thirty years, Lisa strives to enhance operational practices including benchmarking, continuous reflection, refinement of approach, and facilitating the architecture of growth.
Lisa is an active coach and mentor professionally and in a personal capacity.
Rebekah Patterson BA (Hons) is a National Management Trainee on the Local Government Graduate Programme. As part of her work on the scheme, she is undertaking a Level 7 qualification in Strategic Leadership and Management, awarded by CMI.
After graduating from the University of Sheffield in July 2023 with a BA (Hons) degree in Politics and Sociology, Rebekah has been undertaking leadership and management opportunities within her role as a National Management Trainee, with the ambition to progress in her career in the public sector. By undertaking her Level 7 qualification in partnership with CMI, she has a great appreciation for supporting the development of managers. Rebekah aspires to bring value to the work she does and is passionate about balancing strategic oversight with operational detail to enhance experience and outcomes.
An accomplished senior leader specialising in the delivery of change within the Technology space for the past 17 years, Matt has been managing and leading teams for over a decade. Matt has recently moved into the Interim Management area, working to deliver transformational change on behalf of clients primarily in the Private Equity sector.
Recently graduating from Henley Business School with an MBA run as a Level 7 apprenticeship in partnership with the CMI, and therefore now also a Chartered Manager, Matt has a deep appreciation for the support of developing managers and leaders and has derived great satisfaction from supporting peers and team members in turn over the years and seeing their journeys unfold.
Victoria is an ILM Level 7 Executive Coach and through her business, Integrity Executive Coaching provides coaching and consultancy services to ethical and mission-driven business leaders. Victoria has worked across a number of sectors including renewable energy & sustainability, technology & data and operational performance management demonstrating that using a coaching approach gets better outcomes.
Victoria also established solar energy asset management operations in Hyderabad, India, aligning cultures and practices between the UK and Indian teams. Victoria has been a long-time advocate of the CMI. Enabling human-centred leadership is her passion and the cornerstone of how she operates.
Michelle’s leadership and management career has spanned over 19 years. With 6 years working at a
strategic level with senior stakeholders and business leaders, Michelle has experience in managing
people, teams, and processes.
Michelle’s career has encompassed HR, regulatory compliance and currently holds the role of a
Project Lead/Manager managing cross function teams of circa 40 people. Michelle works closely with
senior business stakeholders defining programme requirements and business strategy leading the
team in the delivery of complex projects at the cutting edge of new product development . Her role
involves understanding and delivering strategic programme requirements applying rigorous quality
standards.
Michelle has a passion and enthusiasm for Leadership and Management, the CMI and its journey and
is the appointed Head of Profession for CMI for her company.
Gillian Saieva, Founder of Bennett & Bell Associates Ltd., brings her fast experience of Global Corporate and Higher Education Senior Leadership roles to supporting the productivity of organisations large and small with leadership and management consultancy. She is a Chartered Fellow of CMI, Chartered Member of CIPD, Principal Fellow of Advance HE, and a Certified Management and Business Educator. As an experienced Trustee and Board Member, she currently holds positions on the Small Business Charter Management Board and is Deputy Chair of CMI South-East Regional Board.
